Tweens, Teens & Parents

Enrich your student and family’s learning by enrolling in activities that foster learning outside of the classroom. Whether your student is a budding artist, a future engineer, interested in digital design, or just may need to build their confidence, we have a course to help.  The demands for tweens, teens, and parents are ever changing so if you can’t find what you are looking for, please feel free to contact us with suggestions.

Sub Club: Innovate, Fabricate & Pilot  Register!

Join a team of students who design, build and test a human-powered submersible with the goal to enter the 15th International Submarine Races (ISR) in June 2019. Through hands on learning, participants will be exposed to general concepts of design, CAD, electronics, 3D printing, and other engineering and advanced manufacturing concepts.

Cutting Edge Craftsman: Intro to Glowforge 3d Laser Printer  REgister!

Develop your craftsmanship by using advanced technologies available for home and commercial use. In this workshop you will be able to create a keepsake of your own while learning the basics of how the Glowforge 3D laser works. The Glowforge uses a beam of light the width of a human hair to cut, engrave, and shape designs from a variety of materials.

Cutting Edge Craftsman: Laser LAb  REgister!

If you have taken the Intro to Glowforge 3D Laser Printer class and are ready to create a project of your own, there are supervised one-hour time slots available. Students must bring their own material and the project must be pre-approved by the technician (instructor). Slots will be assigned by the technician between 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M.

BEGINNING PHOTOSHOP  Register!

This learning path will show you how to take advantage of a wide range of tools in Photoshop to better your graphic design projects. This project-based class will introduce you to the standard in digital graphics software with step-by-step demonstrations and an opportunity to experiment. Pre-requisite: Students must be computer friendly.

Character Design  Register!

This four-week class will teach you how to design your own characters for comics, animation, film and games. Students will start with rough sketches, slowly refining their ideas into a polished portfolio piece.

Explore Computer Programming    Register!

Have you ever wondered about a career in computer programming? Join us for a week of exploring the world of programming! The tech industry is a growing industry and is projected to see the fastest job growth out of all categories! In this camp, participants will learn how to write computer programs using Python. Activities will be geared towards writing simple fun computer game programs. Prerequisites:  No prior programming experience is necessary to take, understand, or be successful in this class.

This is a new series of classes that support the academic success of students and enriches learning outside of the classroom.

P 3 coaching Session - Prepare, Practice, Present  REgister!

No matter what grade a student is in, making presentations are a part of getting a good grade or doing well in an academic competition. Students will learn the tips for an effective presentation, will practice feeling comfortable in front of an audience and if they have a presentation already prepared they can do a trial run.

"Fair Play"  REgister!

Fall semester comes with projects such as Science Fair, History Fair and other assignments that can be stressful for the whole family. This workshop takes off some of that stress by giving the students the extra help they need to move forward on their project. Students will learn how to research , present, and compile information in a visual display that can set them apart from the rest. A presentation board will be provided to get your student started.
