GCSC hosts annual empty bowls luncheon
The Visual & Performing Arts Division of Gulf Coast State College is hosting the annual Empty Bowls Luncheon on Thursday, April 6, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Commodore Café in Student Union East.
The goal of Empty Bowls is to increase awareness about the issues of hunger and to raise money to help fight hunger in our own community. This year all proceeds will be donated to Bethel Village.
Guests will be served a simple meal of soup and bread in handcrafted bowls. The bowls have been created and donated by Temple B’nai Israel, Bay County Islamic Society, students from the Rising Leaders Academy and University Academy, the women of Bethel Village, GCSC students and faculty and artists Janice Adams, Erin Passage and Mandy Yourick. Each meal is $10 and the bowl is yours to keep.
