    We are having an issue with the Canvas rosters not loading properly. This issue was reported this morning.  Please be aware that your Canvas roster may not accurate at this time. The Lighthouse and Argos Rosters are correct. We are working on the issue and will let you know when it is resolved.

    7/8/2022
    ITS needs to work with our vendor to install upgrades to PortalGuard (MyGCSC). We will be making these changes today, July 8 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm CST. This will mean that MyGCSC and any applications accessed through MyGCSC will be unavailable during this time. This will affect student and employee access to Canvas, Banner, Self-Service Dashboards, Argos, Ad Astra, Achieve, PeopleAdmin (SSO) and Dynamic Forms. Please make sure your students are aware that they will not be able to login into Canvas during this time.

    College Scheduler Registration Error

    We are currently having an issue with College Scheduler Registration. Student can plan their schedule, but get an error when the try to register. We are working with the vendor on the issue. Students can register through the old Lighthouse Registration links by clicking on Student>Registration>Registration/Drop/Add.  If the student does not know the CRN they can use the Look Up Classes.

    GCSC Wi-Fi Notice

    Technical Support is currently working on the certificates for the “GCSC-Employee” and “GCSC-Student” Wi-Fi networks. While this is being worked on please use the “Unsecured” Wi-Fi network. A notice will be sent out when this has been completed. Thank you for your patience.


    MyGCSC Two-factor Authentication
    2/1//2022
    Issues with Twilio are preventing students and employees with text as their default second factor of authentication from logging into MyGCSC. Twilio is working on the issue. To allow access to MyGCSC, we are temporarily removing the two-factor authentication requirement from MyGCSC. We will turn it back on once this issue is resolved. Two-Factor authentication will still be required for VPN and Office 365. Thanks for your patience as we resolve this issue.


    **Fresh Service Partial Outage**

    We are currently experiencing a partial outage with Fresh Service. Customers will experience difficulty when attempting to access the Fresh Service ticketing system. The development team is working on it right now and we will keep you posted as updates become available. Thank you for your patience.


    MyGCSC Text Two-Factor Authentication Intermittent Issues
    12/10/2021
    Twilio (our text provider) is experiencing intermittent issues with text messages. This may affect two-factor login for MyGCSC if text messaging is being used for your second factor. This does not affect using a Mobile Authenticator or yubikey for your second factor.

    If you do not have a mobile authenticator setup, and you encounter this issue:

    • Wait a couple of minutes and try again
    • Call 850-913-3303 and request a one-time passcode to access

    Information Technology Services(ITS) Department will be upgrading our ‘Papercut’ pay for print servers starting Monday, August 9th and continuing until all servers have been completed.

    There will be sporadic connectivity issues related to the use of the College copiers and any pay for print printers during this upgrade process.

    These interruptions will be temporary and you should be able to resume printing within 30 min.


    Papercut Pay for Print Coping and Printing
    8/6/2021
    The Information Technology Services(ITS) Department will upgrading our ‘Papercut’ pay for print servers starting Monday, August 9th.  Since this involve ITS upgrading several servers their will be sporadic connectivity issues related to the use of the College copiers and any pay for print printers.  Since there are no Students on campus next week ITS is looking at this as our only window outside of Spring Break next year, that we can use to get the Papercut servers upgraded.


    **ITS - Network Maintenance - Scheduled Downtime, August 8th from 8am till 12 noon**

    The Information Technology Services (ITS) department has scheduled upgrades to our Network, requiring a scheduled downtime on Sunday, August 8th from 8am – 12 (noon). 

    All systems using the College Network could be affected by this maintenance, including Banner, Registration, My Student Dashboard, Canvas, and College Email.

    ITS does not anticipate issues related with these upgrades but in the event of a hardware failure our

    Network systems may be down 2-3 days while ITS waits for replacement parts.

    An email notifying when all systems have been restored will be sent out to the College after the scheduled maintenance has been completed.

    Fresh Service Temporary Outage

    There will be a short service outage this afternoon. Fresh Service Tickets may not be available between 4:00pm to 5:00pm TODAY. We will have someone on staff to answer calls that come in during this time. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

    Experiencing Issues with one-time-password

    We are currently experiencing an issue with the one-time passcode (OTP) when logging in to myGCSC. We have users reporting that they are not receiving the OTP . We are aware of this issue and are actively working on getting it resolved promptly.


    Computer Blue Screen When Printing

    Recent Microsoft updates have caused an issue that might cause a blue screen when attempting to print to certain printers using some apps and might generate the error, APC_INDEX_MISMATCH.

    Microsoft has identified the problem and has put out a fix. Please put in a ticket if you experience the blue screen issue. ITS will need to manually install the fix.

    We are currently experiencing an issue with the one-time passcode (OTP) when logging in to portal guard. We have users reporting that they are receiving an OTP delivery error. We are aware of this issue and are actively working on getting it resolved promptly. We will inform everyone when it has been resolved.

The subject of the email is ‘Document shared with you: 3011.docx’ and is being sent by Mona Lisa Valentino (via Google Docs) coming from the following email address: drive-shares-dm-noreply@google.com.  This e-mail is a phishing attempt.

    Hackers Publish Tens Of Thousands Of Records Of Patient's Personal Information From Hospitals In Florida, Texas

    Please see the below NOC Media Monitoring report on patients and employees from 11 hospitals in Florida and Texas. The hack affected Leon Medical Centers which runs eight facilities in Florida and three in Texas. The compromised information includes patients names, birthdays, medical diagnoses, and letters to insurers. The unnamed attack group is well known to researchers and is usually involved in double extortion ransomware. This is the practice whereby data is stolen and posted to a dark web blog in order to force payment.
