Quality Enhancement  Plan/GPS

Through careful review of state performance measures, institutional assessments, and faculty, staff, and student feedback, GCSC has developed a Quality Enhancement Plan to increase enrollments, improve retention rates, and foster persistence for first-year college students by guiding them along academic pathways to ensure student success. Aligned with the national Pathways movement and the College’s strategic goals, the two major initiatives GCSC will pursue within this action plan are the (1) Implementation of Guided Pathways with Intentional Advising and the (2) Creation of Student-Focused Processes and Resources.

Key Components of These Initiatives Are:

  • Establishing and defining pathways that offer students clear expectations for degree completion in commonly accepted general areas that share similar degree subject matter and occupational opportunities
  • Ensuring students choose pathways based on goals
  • Providing clear, intentional advising that keeps students on the degree path they choose
  • Simplifying processes to ensure students receive cohesive, integrated, and student-centered support
