LPN to ADN Articulation

 

This program is for the Licensed Practical Nurse who desires to become a professional Registered Nurse and obtain an Associate of Science degree in Nursing. Following successful completion of prerequisites and the appropriate Excelsior College Examinations (should the student choose this option), students are eligible for admission. The articulation program is designed to facilitate the transition to the professional Registered Nurse role. Upon graduation, students receive an Associate in Science Degree in Nursing and are eligible to take the national licensing exam (NCLEX).

The nursing programs are a Limited Access Programs. A selective admissions process with specific selection criteria is utilized in order to select the most qualified applicants. The strength of the applicant pool varies from year to year, with the best qualified applicants receiving first consideration. It is the applicant's responsibility to inquire about these specific admission and selection criteria and to ensure that all required documents are received on campus prior to the deadlines; please check with your advisor regarding deadline dates. Admission to the nursing programs is not guaranteed. Please review the application process and speak to our nursing advisors with any additional questions regarding selection.

TRADITIONAL OPTION:  The student is a LPN and wishes to enter with advanced standing into the Registered Nursing Program weekday option at Gulf Coast State College, Panama City Campus.  Classes are full time, Monday through Thursday.

WEEKEND OPTION:  The student is a LPN and wishes to enter with advanced standing into the Registered Nursing Program weekend option at Gulf Coast State College, Gulf Franklin Campus in Port St. Joe, Florida.  Classes are on Friday for 6 hours, and clinical meets Saturday OR  Sunday for 12-1/2 hours.  This is a rigorous course of study requiring dedication and stamina.  If you add this option to a full-time work schedule, you will have a very demanding daily routine for 2 semesters.
