Civilian Weapons Training
Wilderness & Remote Area First Aid Training
*This class is taught by a certified American Safety Health Institute ASHI (AHSI) instructor.
Whether you are in a forest or out on the water—if a quick 911 response is not an option—what can you do to stabilize someone in the event of an emergency?
When the only people who can give immediate care are the people with you, it is wise to be prepared with first aid knowledge and a well-stocked first aid kit. This course will cover the most common types of emergencies that can happen while hunting, boating, or hiking.
Knowing how to assess, stabilize and the fundamentals of care while you wait for help or get the injured person to help can save a life!
This four-hour class will involve outdoor instruction with hands-on practice, and indoor classroom lecture.
Dress accordingly for the weather.
Topics of this class will include hands-on instruction for:
- Making a patient assessment;
- Treating cuts, wound care & bleeding control;
- Treating shock;
- Applying splints and tourniquets;
- Caring for fractures and dislocations from falls;
- Dealing with heat exhaustion; frostbite & hypothermia; and
