Emergency Services Training

The Public Safety Division Offers Special Courses in EMT, Emergency Management, Paramedic, Fire, Search and Rescue, and Community Emergency Response Training (CERT).

FIRE

Live Fire Training Instructor I (BFST 3530)

This 40 hour class which is required by the State of Florida will satisfy the FSFC recertification requirements for Live Fire Training Instructor I.  All participants MUST BE a Firefighter II and a Fire Service Instructor to participate. This course will assist LFTI's in understanding and utilizing NFPA 1402 and NFPA 2403. 

Registration fee covers text book materials. Students may register in advance or the day of class--however the class is limited to 25 students.

Community Emergency Response Training (CERT)

New- 24 Hour Triple C Training - Trauma, Combat and Care (TCCC)

This is a new course includes 24 hours of training over three days from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and is offered at the North Bay campus in Southport.

This three day training is offered to first responders and law enforcement officers.

The training includes  three phases of training:

  • Care under fire,
  • Tactical field care, and 
  • Tactical evaluation care.

The NAEMT (National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians) course is endorsed by the American College of Surgeons. A NAEMT certificate will be issued to participants who complete the training. Their certificate cost is included in the registration fee.
