Net Price Calculator (NPC)
The Net Price Calculator is a tool that students can use to estimate the “net price” of attending college. Net Price is the amount that a student pays to attend an institution in a single academic year after subtracting scholarships and grants. Scholarships and grants are forms of financial aid that a student does not have to pay back. Click the links on the left to access the NPCs* GCSC has published over the last few years.
More information can be found on the U.S. Department of Education's webpage.
*Please note that the 2018-2019 NPC was not delivered by the U.S. Department of Education (ED) on time (spring 2020), presumably due to the coronavirus pandemic. When GCSC contacted ED's Net Price Calculator Help Desk on 02/12/2020 and 05/14/2020, we were advised both times that they "do not have any updates from the Department on when the 2018-19 Net Price Calculator will be made available." In addition, the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators published an article on 09/15/2020 (Net Price Calculator Delayed) which indicated that "As of Wednesday, the creators of the NPC are still awaiting the 2018-19 Federal Student Aid (FSA) data from the Department of Education (ED) in order to update the template, and ED is well aware of this situation." Nevertheless, GCSC realized on 01/27/2021 that ED had finally published a NPC template for the 2018-2019 aid year. While we believe this template is not programmed properly by ED, we did use it to create and publish our 2018-2019 aid year NPC.
