Radio/Television, AA

Do You Have an Interest in Broadcasting?

Have you ever wanted to be on the radio or television? Do you enjoy talking to people or finding out the latest news and information in the world around you? In the Radio/Television broadcasting degree program, you will train in the technical aspects of production, such as audio console operation, and learn about radio show preparation through script writing, radio personality development and vocal interpretation. You will have the opportunity to participate in real‐time laboratory experiences and classroom exercises that introduce you to media outlets in the community as well as on‐air and production work for GCSC-TV and WKGC‐AM/FM, the public radio station associated with Gulf Coast State College.

Gulf Coast State College is here to help you build a solid foundation that will prepare you to continue your studies at a four-year institution. We offer the necessary prerequisites for the State of Florida University Baccalaureate Programs. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual wage for media and communication occupations was $53,530 in May 2015.
